CHRIST TO THE CARBON VALLEY
CHRIST TO THE CARBON VALLEY
God has a mission:
To build His kingdom in this world until Jesus returns. And He’s called His Church to play a central role in that mission: to be His primary witness of who Jesus is, the kingdom He brings and the life He gives. Will you please join me in answering that call?

A Christ-Shaped Need
Exhausted. Lonely. Anxious. Spiritually empty. Is this really the life God made us for?
Welcome to the Carbon Valley
The Carbon Valley is one of the fastest growing areas in Colorado. It's made up of three towns: Firestone, Frederick, and Dacono, and is equidistant from Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. Families move to the Carbon Valley so that they can buy an affordable house but keep their jobs in the larger cities as they pursue the “Colorado Dream”: successful jobs, high achieving children, and as much time as possible to spend in the mountains.
The result, however, is much different. The average family spends 1-2 hours a day commuting to work and school, only to get home just in time to sit down for a 10-minute dinner before rushing out the door to get to another meeting, soccer practice, or event on the calendar. They get back home with enough time to say that they’re too tired to talk about how they’re doing and will do it tomorrow… when the same thing happens again. The pursuit of the picture-perfect life leaves families exhausted, not knowing who they are, why they’re here, or why they’re so lonely. Their only hope is that things will be different when they wake up tomorrow to do it all over again.
But God has more for the people He made in His image.
There is a longing in the Carbon Valley that only Christ can satisfy. The life, forgiveness, identity, purpose, community, and security that everyone most deeply needs and longs for can only come by being reconciled with God through Jesus and brought into God’s family, which is the Church. The Carbon Valley has a need that only God, through His Church, can meet.
So why aren’t churches already doing that? They are. But in the Carbon Valley, there’s only 1 church for every 5,000 people. That is nowhere near enough. And of those churches, none are from the Reformed tradition.
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
A Christ-Centered Mission
God has graciously and providentially opened the door for me to plant a church in the Carbon Valley in order to be part of a great work that He is doing to build His kingdom. It’s my prayer that through this church plant, many people will come to know and follow Jesus and experience the life they were made for: a life of joyful worship, life-shaping relationships, sacrificial service, and eternal investments.
This church plant is also part of larger church planting movement in Colorado. As part of the Western Church Planting Network, this church plant is part of a work God is doing to plant 30 PCA churches in Colorado in 15 years. And, being strategically located along the I-25 corridor, it’s our prayer that this church plant will go on to support and plant more churches as part of this movement.
Will you partner with me in this work?
There are three ways you can partner in this work:
Prayer
Jesus tells us, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8) and “This is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us” (1 John 5:14). God is the one who owns, controls, and guides all things: resources, opportunities, money, and people. The most important way you can partner with us is by being part of our prayer team and committing to pray for us at least once a week, asking God to accomplish His will, to provide for the needs of this church plant, to call the lost to Himself, and to help us all trust Him in this process.
People
If you know anyone who lives in (or will be moving to) the Carbon Valley, Denver, Boulder, or Fort Collins, please connect me with them. I would love to get to know them, share with them what God is doing in the Carbon Valley, and invite them to be a part of it.
Financial Support
Finally, will you please join our Financial Support Team by giving as much and as often as you are joyfully able to do? My prayer is to raise $500,000 to cover the cost of the first 3 years of this ministry ($167,000 per year; $13,900 per month). This amount will cover:
Together, we can meet this goal by creating a Financial Support Team that looks something like this:
Total: $14,000/month

Thank You!
Thank you for prayerfully considering how God might be calling you to be a witness of Jesus and His Kingdom by partnering with us to plant a church in the Carbon Valley. Please pray that we will be a faithful witness of Jesus as we seek to embrace a life of love for God, His Church and our neighbors, to the glory of Jesus' name.
In Christ,
Chris Weniger
