OUR STAFF

SHANE MICHAEL WALDRON

Senior Pastor

My wife Nicole and I are originally from Montana, and the Lord has blessed us with four wonderful children. After attending Covenant Theological Seminary, I served as an associate pastor for five years, and then came to RMPC as the senior pastor in 2016. I am also the founder of Refuge Ministries, which helps families impacted by domestic abuse find healing in Christ. In my free time I enjoy reading, skiing, movies, and most importantly, spending time with my wife and children. I am a lifelong fan of the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Lakers.

CHRIS WENIGER

Director of Operations

Though I was born in Fort Collins, I spent most of my childhood in South America, until returning to the United States in 2008. Shortly after, I met my wife, Kate, and we got married in 2015. In 2018, we settled down in Colorado after finishing our graduate studies in Chicago. We love living in Colorado: hiking, rock climbing, biking, trying new coffee, and hopefully we’ll learn to ski soon! We’ve been members at RMPC since 2018 and have especially loved the rich, meaningful worship, and the intentional discipleship ministry of Journey Groups.

GREG UPTON

Music Director

A native of Austin Texas,  I spent 16 years in Los Angeles honing my craft in songwriting and vocal performance before moving to Denver in 2006. My family and I joined RMPC in 2007, where I was a volunteer musician for the church. Soon after I was given the opportunity to lead worship and have been doing it ever since. I enjoy golf, pickleball, and recording music in my home studio. My wife's name is Krista, and our two boys are Cade and Cash.

OUR ELDERS

COLIN DOUGHAN

Although natives of the Midwest, my wife and I have called Colorado home since 2011.  We have three children (two sons and one daughter), and we spend much of our time pointing our kids to God's amazing Grace.  God has instilled in me a passion for outer space.  I am grateful to work in the aerospace sector and am continually in awe of the evidence of His hand in ordering the cosmos!  We love our RMPC family dearly and, as an elder, I count it a blessing and responsibility to care for a portion of HIS flock.

JOE ELLIOTT

My wife, Rhonda, and I are Seattleites born and raised, but the Colorado sunshine won our hearts.  God guided us to RMPC in 2010 where we rejoiced in joyful worship, uplifting music, loving church family,  and challenging preaching. Our 3 wonderful kids (now adults) Hannah, Abby, and JJ flourished in this environment.  I enjoy pickleball, mountain biking, and walking our dogs.

SCOTT JOHNSON

I'm a native to Colorado and currently live in Erie. I've been a member of RMPC since 2009 and serving as ruling elder on the session since 2014. I'm married to Beth and have three children. I've been working as a mechanical engineer after getting degrees from CU Boulder. I enjoy camping, hiking, music, spending time with family and friends, and growing closer to the LORD.

CHRIS JORGENSEN

I grew up in Loveland, CO and graduated from CSU. My career took me and my wife, Elaine, to many places domestically and internationally, with an easy decision to return to Colorado in 2012 when I retired. We have been members since 2012 and have enjoyed serving and teaching over the years at RMPC. Our interests are hiking, camping, book clubs, Spanish conversation and travel. I also enjoy cooking and golf. We are fortunate to have our daughter Breanna and her family, the Flagers, as part of our church family. Our other daughter, Lychele, her husband Josh and son Alucard live close as well.

CLIFF OLSON

I am a retired KPMG Partner and moved to Denver from Minneapolis in 2016 to be close to my children and grandchildren.  I enjoy downhill skiing, golf and carpentry.  I have been married to my enchanting college sweetheart for 52 years.

OUR DEACONS

CURT LEDALL

My family and I have been attending RMPC since 2010. My two favorite things at RMPC are the music and the other members. Some of my hobbies include playing ice hockey (I've played with and against members of the 1980 US Men's Hockey team -- the Miracle on Ice team). I am a member of Sons of the American Revolution and participate as much as I can with the Color Guard, marching in parades with the colors and attending the meetings. My wife, Shelley, and I have two daughters, Madeline and Hannah.

STAN TWETEN

I am a retired UPS driver with 39 years driving the brown truck. We moved to Denver in 1958, to be closer to family. I feel very fortunate to be a member of RMPC and honored to be a Deacon. I have been married to my lovely bride Debby for 46 years and we have 3 grown sons and 6 grandchildren.

JOHN TALBERT

I was born and raised in Wisconsin - Go Pack!  After graduating college and marrying my high school sweetheart, we lived in New York and then Washington DC.  In 2015, we moved with our two kids to Colorado to be closer to family.  We feel blessed to call RMPC our church home.  We love the Bible-focused preaching, beautiful music, excellent discipleship classes for adults and kids, and fellowship with our Community Group. In my free time, I enjoy watching my kids play sports, skiing, and good beer.

OUR DEACONESSES

SUSAN KIDD

My family and I moved from Ohio to Wheat Ridge, CO in 1979. I was married for 35 years before being widowed in 2004. We have two wonderful children Allison and Jason and 6 grandchildren. I retired from Jefferson County Public Schools as a Secretary. In 2016 I moved to Thornton to be closer to my son. During my search for a church home I encountered such a loving, vibrant and Christ filled church at RMPC! My first Sunday at RMPC was also Pastor Shane’s first Sunday. I am always encouraged by  the preaching, teaching, music and warmth of a loving church family at RMPC! I enjoy being a grandma, traveling and reading.

SHARON OZZELLO

Born and raised in North Dakota, I moved to Colorado just out of college and later married my husband, Kelly, a Colorado native, in 2014.  We still visit the Great Plains often to see my family there!  I’ve been blessed to complete my graduate studies at DU and with an enjoyable career in finance and contract management.  I was drawn to RMPC for the Biblical teaching, true to the Word of the Lord, and the warm, wonderful community here.  In this family I truly have the opportunity to participate in the body of Christ and fellowship with others. In our spare time, Kelly and I enjoy spending time with family and friends, each other and my step-daughter, Courtney, our kitty, volunteering, and occasionally attending to our numerous hobbies.

DEBBY TWETEN

I have lived in Colorado for most of my life and have been married to my husband, Stan for 46 years.  We have been blessed with three sons, their wives, and six grandchildren.  Since none of them live close by, spending time with any of them is always a joy.  I am so grateful God brought us to RMPC to be part of a loving family with whom we can learn, grow, and serve together in Christ.  It is a place where the Gospel, loving each other, and being witnesses of His Good News are of utmost importance. It is a privilege to serve His church body as a Deaconess.

OUR VOLUNTEER LEADERS

JODI MCFADDEN

Director of Children's Ministry

My husband, Ewan, and I have been attending RMPC since 2014 and love our church family. We have four fun-loving kids (three boys and one girl), a black Lab and multiple chickens! I grew up in CO and am so thankful that the Lord led us back here after several adventures elsewhere.

TIM VAN LANT

Advisory Elder

I was born and raised in a small Dutch dairy farming town in the Northwest corner of Washington State (I’m nearly Canadian, and I may invite you to watch a BC Lions football game).  I earned a BA from Calvin College and an M.Div. from Calvin Theological Seminary.  After seminary, I served as a solo pastor in rural Iowa.  I moved to Colorado in 2006 to marry my wife Robin, and God has blessed us with two rambunctiously wonderful kids.  We've been a part of RMPC since 2007. I enjoy reading all those good books I was supposed to have read in high school and college.  I relish listening to albums in their entirety.  Our family looks forward to daytrips around Colorado; especially wherever discounts and free stuff can be found.  And, I am always up for getting together to watch some football, hockey, or NASCAR.
