DISCIPLESHIP

We are building a movement of life-on-life missional discipleship. In this movement, leaders labor in the lives of a few with the intention of imparting their lives, God’s Word and the gospel in such a way as to see their disciples become mature and equipped followers of Christ, committed to doing the same in the lives of others. Discipleship at RMPC is designed to be less like a shotgun and more like a sniper rifle. Instead of offering a large number of programs with no clear target, we offer strategic ministries that are aimed at making mature and equipped followers of Christ. These ministries are journey groups and discipleship classes.

JOURNEY GROUP

Journey groups follow Jesus’ method of discipleship. Trained leaders meet in small gender-specific groups to study God’s truth, equip each other to obey it, hold each other accountable, encourage one another in missional living, and pray together. After being in a journey group for three years, the majority of disciples are equipped to lead their own group. This movement of spiritual multiplication will have an exponential impact on our entire congregation.

CHILDREN'S DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES

Children's Discipleship Classes meet on Sunday mornings from 10:00-10:45am, between worship services. We utilize The Gospel Project curriculum, which takes kids on a chronological journey through Scripture. Kids learn to:

  • See the big story of the Bible
  • Read Scripture as Christ-centered
  • Grasp essential Christian doctrines
  • Study the Old and New Testaments

ADULT DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES

Adult Discipleship Classes meet during the same time as our Children's Discipleship Classes, from 10:00-10:45am. We offer two classes each Sunday: one focused on Bible and theology, and the other focused on Christian living. These classes usually last 12 weeks, and are taught during the fall, winter, and spring quarters.
